SURAH 62 AL-JUMU'AH

SURAH 62

AL JUMU’AH - سورة الجمعة

THE PROCESS OF CONSOLIDATION & INTEGRATION OF THOUGHTS –

EXEGESIS:

What Is
Inner Calling & Al Jumu'ah?

What we do, matters. We could question ourselves what we would do with our time if we had no necessary constraints. The pursuit of pleasures in a self-indulgent lifestyle would soon leave us empty and dissatisfied. We would start looking for a productive way to fulfill the emptiness in our life. We would seek a way of serving, that corresponds to our own unique talents and propensities, a way that engages the whole of ourselves, a way that calls on us. We would look for work that we love. This natural call automatically drives us towards our original role encrypted by the knowledgeable Consciousness
[رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ] in the form of inherent script called Al-Kitab in Quranic terminology. Listen to your inner calling, follow your passion and your worries shall disappear.

The initial difficulty arises from the obvious and mundane fact, that most of us must work for the necessities of life, to support ourselves and our family. This constraint of life apparently limits the transpiring of our inner voice or appeal or a call
The basic meaning of ندى is which befalls, happens, occurs, emerges, transpires, crop up, ensue. One of the derivatives of ندى is Nida [نِدَاء] is the emergence / occurrence of inner voice / call and another derivative word Nadwah [نَدْوَة] is counsel or symposium / panel of selected people. Usually people interchange this word with Azaan أَذَان‎ - the basic meaning azaan is to listen in order to perceive knowledge.

We all have a job or career, with little time or energy left to discover or pursue / follow our inner calling / voice. But it need not be that way. Every one of us have an indigenous messenger (rasul) within us, who purifies us and wisely educates us about the embedded script (Al-Kitab). Our job is to understand the signs / signals of our own Al-Kitab and comply with it or learn from it. The call or passive voice of inherent Rasul to activate or gather/consolidate/assess all the inherent senses to assemble or connect together according to the wisdom provided by inherent script [Al-Kitab]. The process of integration / congregation of all thoughts and senses is termed as الجمعة / Al Jumu'ah in the Quranic sense. In lexicon Friday is also called الشاهد -alshahidu because of presence and congregation of people.

The other difficulty confronted by us, lies in not understanding ourselves well enough to know our inner calling. To facilitate this we should retrospect on our passions and assess our activities/inclinations minutely, what we hold to be important, how we act and respond, what we aspire to be, what education, training, skills, and hobbies we have. From all these directions may emerge an assessment of our real personality. When we listen the inner voice, that self assessment process becomes easy and this self assessment is called Al-Jumu'ah in Quranic context. And those who fail to assess themselves and wander in many directions aimlessly, dissatisfied with their work in lieu of imitating others script will always feel insecure, carrying a load or a burden on them, they will never be able to attain Al-Jumu'ah.

If we cannot concentrate towards our job, then it shows clearly that our inner calling is suggesting another job or career for us. To be able to earn our living doing something we love that provides real service to our life, is a formula for a meaningful and peaceful life. So we resolutely and responsibly take the steps necessary to create that situation, to fulfill our real calling in our life.

Some jobs can be so draining and deadening that they erode our possibilities of growth. Finding your inner calling can bring a renewed energy to our life, an energy that integrate over into your inner self. And to reiterate the first sentence is what we do, matters. The path of inner calling is not only about inner mechanism. Your calling can harmonize your outer life with your inner life, fusing them in a life of spirit, service, meaning, and fulfillment, bringing you closer towards your true purpose, towards a right relationship with the Divine Purpose or Original Self.

CONTEXTUAL TRANSLATION:

The state of continuous efforts of learning is for Him only, whatever is in higher consciousness and whatever is in the lower consciousness, He is the Owner of Purity, the Mighty, the Wise

* Learning is the part of the evolution process. Our consciousness evolves due to continuous efforts of learning. Evolution is a must to meet our final destination. "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return."

It is He who has raised in the self directed courses a Rasul from themselves prompting / following upon them His signs and developing them and teaching them the script and the way of wisdom - and indeed they were from compliance of clear error

* A rasul who teaches like a mother is installed in everyone of us to guide and teach us the inherent script so that we grow wisely.

And the procrastinators from themselves are those who have never detaches with themselves. And He is Mighty, the Wise.

*The lazy and pleasure seeking ones are in love with themselves so they procrastinate to reach their destination.

That is the feature of the system of consciousness, He transforms him whom He desires, and the system of consciousness [Allah] is the possessor of great features.

* Such is the working of the system of consciousness [Allah] - The transformation of self depends on our own desire.

The effect of those who entrusted the Torah (a message which is given time and again, continuously) and then did not take it on is like case of the stupid person who toil (carried the burden) in all direction. Wretched is the pattern of the configuration of thoughts who deny the signs of the system of consciousness. And the system of consciousness [Allah] does not guide the wrongdoing configuration of thoughts.

* The message is continuously reminded [Torah] but they will not take heed and toil in all direction like a donkey. The rigidity of their thought is self destroying thus they are deprived of guidance of Allah [system of consciousness].

Say, "O you those are guided, if you claim that you are authority for Him, subsequently lower the agitated mind, then wish for the death [of senses], if you speak the truth."

* If you think you can be guided even if you lower the caliber of your agitated mind then let it die and see if you are truthful

But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their own resources have put forth. And the system of consciousness [Allah] is Cognizant with the unjust.

* The fact is they know the consequences of their deeds and the system of consciousness is well aware of their wrong doing.

Say, "Indeed, the death [of senses] from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do."

* Nobody will escape from their wrong doings because your system of consciousness is always with you and IT will not leave anyone.

O those who trust/faith their own selves, when inner voice transpired for the process of connection from the moment of consolidation
/ integration [ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ], then hasten to the introspection of the system of consciousness [Allah] and leave the engagement. That is better for you, if you only knew.

* When some important thing is known or revealed to your mind; connect to it for introspection of your own system of consciousness and leave all other engagements.

And when the connection has been decreed / accomplished, print / revived / it in the lower conscious and seek from the features of the system of consciousness, and retrospect the system of consciousness [Allah] often that you may succeed.

Retrospection / introspection [zikr] is must after the connection [salat] is accomplished.

But when they dream of any commerce / demand or a attraction, they are disconnected towards it and relinquish you (rasul - inner calling) forever. Say, "What is with the system of consciousness [Allah] is better from the attraction and from the commerce, and the system of consciousness [Allah] is the best of providers."

* Distraction disables the connection of our connection and we are unable to listen to our inner voice or rasul

CONTEXTUAL MEANINGS ACCORDING TO THE THEME OF THE ROOT WORD:

الْأُمِّيِّينَ - The root word is امم [he tended, repaired, directed his course towards him, betook himself, mother, source, origin foundation] the derivative words are إِمَامًا [natural guide who shows the way or course, leader or exemplar] -  أُمَّةٌ - [natural state, course, way, conduct, mode or manner of acting] - الْأُمِّيَّ [natural state, self guided, one who repair the self]

SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Friday was formerly known as العروبة 'Aroobah, but according to hadith it was named 'Jumuah' only at the advent of religion Islam. Al-Jumuah' was named so because Quraish used to gather in the building called dar an-Nadwa دَارِ النَّدْوَةِ -

It is in the Ahadith that 'Jumuah' is referred as a special day of prayers, see for example in Sahih Muslim in Sunan abi Dawud in Sunan an-Nasa-i or in Jami' at-Tirmidhi.

The actual connotation of Yaumul Aroobah is Moment of Clarity/Understanding. [

CONCLUSION:

The respected author says that don't ignore your inner callings - The System of Consciousness [Allah] is the best provider. Ignorance kills Rasul in you.

When you receive the inner calling attend the call with full sincerity. Leave everything and incline towards your call, in fact abandon everything and follow your inner voice; that is where lies the guidance for your inner peace,

But our traditional interpreters instruct us to forgo everything in order to attend the Friday ritual prayers in the mosque.

In short Yaumul Al-Jumu'ah is not Friday, it is the moment of integration, accumulation, congregation, consolidation of our thoughts when the connection [salat] happens with our own system of consciousness [Allah]; we just have to follow that connection, it will take us to our destination, the best destination [خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِينَ] - Attending your inner calling is far better than attending Friday ritual prayers.
